2. CARERS AWARENESS TRAINING FOR SOCIAL CARE STAFF
When carers are treated as partners of those they care for, this makes for a better relationship between the carer and social care officers. Carers normally come into contact with statutory services as a result of providing support to others who are recipients of those services. Some report that for them this experience is usually a negative one, as they are left feeling frustrated, patronised, misunderstood, isolated, undervalued and taken for granted during assessments. This workshop will raise the awareness of social care officers about the real issues for carers and how they are affected by caring.
